AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Thousands of Palestinian worshipers performed Friday prayer in the holy Al-Aqsa Mosque in Occupied al-Quds (Jerusalem), amid strict Israeli security measures at its gates.
The Department of Islamic Endowments in al-Quds reported that 35,000 citizens performed Friday prayer in Al-Aqsa courtyards.
Since the early morning hours, the Israeli police were deployed at checkpoints at the entrances to Al-Aqsa and the Old City and checked the ID cards of the Palestinians.
However, thousands of West Bank citizens were denied access to the Mosque.
Earlier Friday, thousands of Palestinians performed Dawn prayer at al-Aqsa Mosque in response to calls for intensifying Palestinian presence in the holy site in rejection of Israeli occupation’s attempts to Judaize it.
Palestinian activists have earlier called for intensifying presence at Palestinian holy sites in response to the Israeli systematic Judaization policy.
